PieceNote Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of the smartphone application "PieceNote" ("the App") provided by OceanTechWorks ("the Developer"). By using the App, users are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

Article 1 (Scope of Application)

These Terms apply to all relationships between users and the Developer regarding the use of the App.

Article 2 (Purpose and Intended Use)

The App is provided as a note-taking tool that allows users to organize memos by pages in a simple and intuitive manner. Use of the App for purposes not intended by the Developer—such as commercial use, redistribution of modified versions, or reverse engineering—is prohibited.

Article 3 (Handling of User Data)

1. Memo content, page information, and other data entered by users are stored locally on the device.
2. User-entered data is not transmitted to the Developer’s servers and is managed entirely on the user’s device.
3. Users are responsible for backing up their data as necessary to prepare for device loss or failure.

Article 4 (Disclaimer)

1. The Developer makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of the App.
2. The Developer shall not be liable for any damages or issues arising from the use of the App.
3. The Developer may change, suspend, or discontinue the App without prior notice.
4. The App may use advertising and analytics services; however, no personally identifiable information is collected.

Article 5 (Prohibited Activities)

• Using the App for unlawful or improper purposes
• Analyzing, modifying, or reproducing the App without authorization
• Engaging in activities that cause inconvenience or harm to third parties
• Violating laws or public order and morals

Article 6 (Intellectual Property Rights)

All intellectual property rights, including copyrights and trademarks, related to the App and its associated content belong to the Developer or to legitimate rights holders.

Article 7 (Advertisements and Third-Party Services)

The App may use third-party services such as Google AdMob and Google Analytics. These services may collect anonymized data but do not collect personally identifiable information. For details, please refer to the Privacy Policy.

Article 8 (Suspension or Restriction of Use)

If a user violates these Terms, the Developer may suspend or restrict the use of the App without prior notice.

Article 9 (Changes to the Terms)

The Developer may modify these Terms as necessary. Any changes will take effect upon being posted on this page.

Article 10 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising in connection with the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Japanese courts having jurisdiction over the Developer’s location.
